About Me
Kulasihkulpon/Welcome to Irilla Counselling and Wellness. It takes a great deal of courage to reach out for help, and I warmly welcome you to my page as you take this important step toward healing and support.
I am a Wolastoqey woman with over a decade of experience in social work practice. In that time, I have had the opportunity to work with youth, adults and families experiencing a diverse range of challenges including trauma, complex family dynamics, anxiety, intimate partner violence, stress and isolation to name a few. My approach to therapy is grounded in the principle of Two-Eyed Seeing, which emphasizes the integration of both Western knowledge and Indigenous ways of knowing. This framework allows me to create a holistic and respectful therapeutic environment.
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy to individuals in New Brunswick, ensuring accessibility for those seeking support. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA), a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and a Master of Social Work (MSW), and I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and strength-based, allowing me to meet clients where they are and empower them in their healing journeys. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy and also draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help individuals navigate life’s challenges.
I strive to provide a judgment-free space where you can share your story—no matter what that story looks like. I recognize that it can be difficult to open up about your experiences, but I am here to listen to everything you wish to express, including the things that might feel too hard to say. Together, we can explore your feelings and experiences in a supportive and understanding environment, fostering growth and healing at your own pace.
