Play
Therapy
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate and evidence-based approach that helps children express thoughts, feelings, and experiences through play—their natural form of communication. Just as adults use words to talk through their challenges, children use play to make sense of their world, process emotions, and build problem-solving and coping skills.
In a play therapy session, toys, art materials, sand, and creative activities become tools for expression and healing. Through these experiences, children can explore difficult emotions, strengthen self-esteem, improve relationships, and learn new ways to manage behaviour or stress in a safe and supportive environment.
We offer Child-Centered, Non-Directive Play Therapy, which allows the child to take the lead in the playroom while I provide a safe, accepting, and empathetic space for healing. This approach honours each child’s inner drive toward growth and resilience, empowering them to work through challenges in their own time and way.
Play therapy provides a space where children feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow—one playful step at a time.
